Diffbot Pricing Explained (2026): Startup $299, Plus $899 and What One Credit Buys
Diffbot sells monthly plans with a pool of credits: Startup $299/month for 250,000 credits and Plus $899/month for 1,000,000 credits, with Enterprise priced on request (per Diffbot's pricing page as of Nov 1, 2026). Extracting a page costs 1 credit, or 2 through Diffbot's datacenter proxy, and usage past the monthly pool is billed at the plan's per-credit rate. Here is how it works, and how switch402 differs: you pay only for the pages you actually fetch, $0.008 each ($0.003 on lite), with no plan.
- What one credit buys
Per Diffbot's pricing page: Extract costs 1 credit per page (2 via datacenter proxy), a Natural Language document up to 10,000 characters 1, a web search 1, a Knowledge Graph entity export or enhance 25, a facet query record or an enhance with refresh 100. Spidering a site with Crawl costs 0 credits; the pages it extracts are billed.
- A monthly pool of credits
Every plan includes a pool of renewable monthly credits, and the plan price is billed each month whatever share of the pool you use. Diffbot is a monthly subscription with no long-term contract; cancel and you are not billed for the following month.
- Past the pool: pro rata overage
On a paid plan, credits beyond the monthly pool are billed pro rata at the plan's per-credit rate. Diffbot's own example: 1,500,000 credits on Plus costs $899 plus 500,000 extra credits at the Plus rate.
- Rate limits by plan
Startup allows 5 requests a second and Plus 25 a second, with Crawl access (25 active crawls) and 3 user seats on Plus. Enterprise adds custom credit allotments, 100+ active crawls and dedicated support.
Diffbot paid plans as of Nov 1, 2026 (monthly)
| Diffbot plan | Price | Credits per month | Rate limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Startup | $299/month | 250,000 | 5 requests/sec |
| Plus | $899/month | 1,000,000 | 25 requests/sec |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom allotment | 25+ requests/sec |
The plan price is the same whether you use a few credits or the whole pool, so what you pay per page is the plan price divided by the pages you actually extract that month. switch402 has no plan: $0.008 per successful page on /v1/scrape and $0.003 on /v1/scrape/lite, and a month with no calls costs $0.
Sources, checked Nov 1, 2026: diffbot.com/pricing. Prices can change; check the source before you decide.
Example: 2,000 pages extracted in a month use 2,000 of Startup's 250,000 credits, and the plan still costs $299. The same 2,000 pages on switch402 cost $16 ($6 on lite), and a month with no calls costs $0.
Code example
Before: Diffbot Extract, 1 credit per page (curl)
curl -s "https://api.diffbot.com/v3/analyze?token=$DIFFBOT_TOKEN&url=https%3A%2F%2Fexample.com"
# 1 credit per extracted page, 2 through the datacenter proxyAfter: switch402, paid per page (JavaScript)
// npm i @x402/fetch @x402/evm viem
import { wrapFetchWithPaymentFromConfig } from '@x402/fetch'
import { ExactEvmScheme } from '@x402/evm'
import { privateKeyToAccount } from 'viem/accounts'
const account = privateKeyToAccount(process.env.AGENT_KEY)
const fetchWithPayment = wrapFetchWithPaymentFromConfig(fetch, {
schemes: [{ network: 'eip155:8453', client: new ExactEvmScheme(account) }],
})
const res = await fetchWithPayment('https://api.switch402.com/v1/scrape', {
method: 'POST',
headers: { 'Content-Type': 'application/json', 'User-Agent': 'my-agent/1.0' },
body: JSON.stringify({ url: 'https://example.com' }),
})
const { markdown } = await res.json() // $0.008, charged only on successFAQ
- Is switch402 live?
- Yes. POST https://api.switch402.com/v1/scrape with {"url": "..."} returns the page as markdown for $0.008 USDC on Base per call, paid over x402 and charged only on success. A lower-cost endpoint, /v1/scrape/lite, is $0.003 per call.
- How much does Diffbot cost?
- As of Nov 1, 2026, per diffbot.com/pricing: Startup $299/month with 250,000 credits and Plus $899/month with 1,000,000 credits. Enterprise pricing is custom. Usage past the monthly credits is billed pro rata at the plan's per-credit rate.
- How many Diffbot credits does one request use?
- Per its pricing page: 1 credit to extract a page (2 via datacenter proxy), 1 per Natural Language document up to 10,000 characters, 1 per web search, 25 per Knowledge Graph entity export or enhance and 100 per facet query record or enhance with refresh. Spidering with Crawl is 0 credits.
- What happens when I use more than my Diffbot credits?
- On a paid plan, the extra usage is billed pro rata at your plan's per-credit rate, so the bill grows past the plan price rather than stopping. Every plan includes a pool of renewable monthly credits.
- Do Diffbot and switch402 return the same thing?
- No. Diffbot Extract returns structured fields for a page, and Diffbot also sells Knowledge Graph, Natural Language and Crawl. switch402 returns a public page as markdown, plus screenshots, web search, site maps, page metadata and PDF to text, paid per call; it has no knowledge graph or NLP. Compare only if page-to-text is what you need.
- How is switch402 different?
- There is no plan or credit pool: each successful call is paid on its own, $0.008 per page on /v1/scrape and $0.003 on /v1/scrape/lite, in USDC on Base over x402, and a month with no calls costs $0. Optional prepaid packs and a $10 monthly plan are there if you prefer a balance, and leftover balance stays on your key.
- Where do these numbers come from?
- Diffbot's pricing page (plan prices, monthly credits, rate limits, credits per action and overage), fetched Nov 1, 2026, plus switch402's live payment terms. Prices can change; check the source before you decide.
