How it works

We fetch the page once from our server, read the tags in its <head> (title, meta description, canonical, og:*, twitter:*), and list the basics that are not set: og:title, og:description, og:image, og:url, og:type, twitter:card and canonical. Only public http(s) pages can be checked; private and internal addresses are refused, including through redirects.
