Firecrawl Pricing Explained (2026): Plans, Credits per Request and When Credits Expire
Short answer: Firecrawl costs $19 to $749 a month, and a basic scrape is 1 credit per page. Firecrawl sells monthly credit plans: Hobby $19/month for 5,000 credits, Standard $99/month for 100,000, Growth $399/month for 500,000 and Scale $749/month for 1,000,000 (monthly billing, per Firecrawl's pricing page as of Oct 31, 2026). A basic scrape costs 1 credit per page, some options add credits, and plan credits reset each month. Here is how it works, and how switch402 differs: you pay only for the pages you actually fetch, $0.008 each ($0.003 on lite), with no plan and nothing to expire.
- Credits per request
Per Firecrawl's billing docs, Scrape and Crawl cost 1 credit per page, Map 1 credit per call and Search 2 credits per 10 results. Options add more: JSON format +4 credits per page, the prompt injection check +4, Zero Data Retention +1, and the modifiers stack (JSON format plus Zero Data Retention is 6 credits a page).
- Plan credits reset monthly
Each plan's monthly allotment resets at the start of each billing cycle. Hobby, Standard and Growth credits do not roll over. Per the billing docs, annual Scale plans roll unused plan credits over 1 month and annual Enterprise plans 2 months. Yearly plans are billed annually, but credits still reset each month.
- Pay-as-you-go needs a paid plan
When plan credits run out, paid plans can add credits in 5 USD increments up to a monthly limit you set. Credits you buy stay on the account until you use them, but expire if you cancel your subscription.
- When a request is charged
Firecrawl charges when it returns a document, including pages that come back with an error status such as 403 or 404 (1 credit). A scrape that fails outright is not charged.
Firecrawl plans as of Oct 31, 2026 (monthly billing)
| Firecrawl plan | Price | Credits per month | Unused plan credits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hobby | $19/month | 5,000 | Do not roll over |
| Standard | $99/month | 100,000 | Do not roll over |
| Growth | $399/month | 500,000 | Do not roll over |
| Scale | $749/month | 1,000,000 | Roll over for one month |
The plan price is the same whether you use a few credits or all of them, so what you pay per page is the plan price divided by the pages you actually scrape that month. switch402 has no plan: $0.008 per successful page on /v1/scrape and $0.003 on /v1/scrape/lite, and a month with no calls costs $0.
Sources, checked Oct 31, 2026: firecrawl.dev/pricing, docs.firecrawl.dev/billing. Prices can change; check the source before you decide.
Example: 1,000 basic pages in a month on Hobby use 1,000 of its 5,000 credits, and the plan still costs $19. The same 1,000 pages on switch402 cost $8 ($3 on lite), and a month with no calls costs $0. At steady volume a plan costs less per page: see the scraping API pricing comparison (linked below) for Firecrawl next to six other APIs at 1,000, 10,000 and 100,000 pages.
Code example
Before: Firecrawl scrape, 1 credit per basic page (curl)
curl -s -X POST https://api.firecrawl.dev/v2/scrape \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $FIRECRAWL_API_KEY" \
-H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
-d '{"url": "https://example.com", "formats": ["markdown"]}'
# add the JSON format and the same page costs 5 creditsAfter: switch402, paid per page (JavaScript)
// npm i @x402/fetch @x402/evm viem
import { wrapFetchWithPaymentFromConfig } from '@x402/fetch'
import { ExactEvmScheme } from '@x402/evm'
import { privateKeyToAccount } from 'viem/accounts'
const account = privateKeyToAccount(process.env.AGENT_KEY)
const fetchWithPayment = wrapFetchWithPaymentFromConfig(fetch, {
schemes: [{ network: 'eip155:8453', client: new ExactEvmScheme(account) }],
})
const res = await fetchWithPayment('https://api.switch402.com/v1/scrape/lite', {
method: 'POST',
headers: { 'Content-Type': 'application/json', 'User-Agent': 'my-agent/1.0' },
body: JSON.stringify({ url: 'https://example.com' }),
})
const { markdown } = await res.json() // $0.003, charged only on successFAQ
- Is switch402 live?
- Yes. POST https://api.switch402.com/v1/scrape with {"url": "..."} returns the page as markdown for $0.008 USDC on Base per call, paid over x402 and charged only on success. A lower-cost endpoint, /v1/scrape/lite, is $0.003 per call.
- How much does Firecrawl cost?
- As of Oct 31, 2026, per firecrawl.dev/pricing with monthly billing: Hobby $19/month (5,000 credits), Standard $99/month (100,000 credits), Growth $399/month (500,000 credits) and Scale $749/month (1,000,000 credits). Enterprise pricing is custom.
- How many credits does one Firecrawl request use?
- Per docs.firecrawl.dev/billing: 1 credit per scraped or crawled page, 1 per map call and 2 per 10 search results. JSON format, the prompt injection check and other LLM formats add 4 credits a page, Zero Data Retention adds 1, and the modifiers stack.
- Do Firecrawl credits expire?
- Plan credits reset each month and do not roll over by default; per the billing docs, annual Scale plans roll unused plan credits over 1 month. Pay-as-you-go credits you buy stay until used, but expire if you cancel your subscription.
- How is switch402 different?
- Pay per call has no plan or credit balance: each successful call is paid on its own, $0.008 per page on /v1/scrape and $0.003 on /v1/scrape/lite, in USDC on Base over x402, so nothing expires. If you prefer a balance, optional prepaid packs ($5, $20 or $50) and a $10, 30-day monthly plan are available, and leftover prepaid balance stays on your key. switch402 does single-page scrapes, site maps ($0.001), page metadata ($0.001), screenshots, web search and PDF to text; it does not run crawl jobs or JSON extraction.
- Where do these numbers come from?
- Firecrawl's pricing page (plan prices, monthly credits and rollover) and its billing docs (credits per request, reset and expiry), both fetched Oct 31, 2026, plus switch402's live payment terms. Prices can change; check the sources before you decide.
